On August 16, "Daimonji Party," the annual summer event of softdevice was held in conjunction with Kyoto’s Gozan-no-Okuribi. This year, for the first time in four years, we were able to welcome guests to our office again. During the event people were able to enjoy Nagashi Somen and other traditional dishes, chat with staff and family, and watch the Okuribi.  The concept behind the event is not only for the guests to enjoy, but also for staff members themselves to have a fun and relaxing time. In our studio on the 3rd floor, visitors were able to enjoy analog games or participate in a playful programming school. In the Lab-area we presented analog synthesizers, sound installations, and various other works. All these were created by our staff, each according to their personal interests and hobbies to share with the world. Additionally, a workshop using EKAKIO, an electronics-prototyping tool developed in-house, was taking place in the afternoon before the main-event, allowing 8 guests to experience EKAKIO first-hand. In total we were able to welcome 45 guests to our Daimonji Office Party this year. A truly lively event and precious opportunity for staff, family and guests to get together and share a good time in real life once again.
